The Game of Thrones author’s bibliography is more diverse than you might think.

As the world of Game of Thrones continues to expand following the end of the original show, which greenlit a series of upcoming spinoffs, George RR Martin is eagerly awaiting the film adaptation of his very different work – and it has nothing to do with the Game of Thrones universe.

Long before the publication of “Game of Thrones,” which made Martin famous, the writer boasted a collection of a wide variety of stories, including the vampire novel “Fevre’s Dreams.”

The action takes place in the 19th century on the lower Mississippi River, where bankrupt river captain Abner Marsh receives a tempting offer from mysterious wealthy man Joshua York – with the latter’s money Marsh can build the ship of his dreams called “Fevre’s Dreams”. Over time, the hero begins to spend much more time next to York and notices a number of oddities in the wealthy man’s behavior, later discovering that he is none other than a vampire.

‘Fevre’s Dreams’ was published back in 1982 and now, decades later, it has every chance of getting a television or film adaptation.

As Martin himself recently admitted, he has already had several meetings with the eminent Guillermo Del Toro, who, according to the writer, is determined to make the idea a reality.

However, Martin noted that production on a film or series can take longer than many of his fans expect, but that sooner or later, “Fevre Dreams” will come out — presumably with Ron Perlman in the role of Abner Marsha for now.
