The twelfth season of “American Horror Story” was called “Tenderness” (or “Delicate Position,” in analogy with the title of the Daniel Valente novel on which the season was based). The season focuses on the theme of pregnancy and the horrors that come with it. The main character, an actress named Anna Victoria Alcott, is obsessed with becoming a mother, but is confronted with a series of strange and frightening events.
The theme of body control and motherhood is not often explored from a horror perspective, and this is what season twelve has captivated fans with. Of course, the participation of Kim Kardashian, who played one of the main roles (unexpectedly well), contributed to the hype. However, the participation of “hype” actors such as Kardashian or Lady Gaga caused criticism from many fans: a part of the fandom is certain that after Jessica Lange left “American Horror Story”, the quality of the series began to decline.
However, the series was renewed for a thirteenth season long ago: it would be a huge omission not to beat that number, right? The premiere date is still unknown, though.
