Short but exciting stories.
In recent years, miniseries have become one of the most popular show formats – modern viewers often simply don’t have time to sit through eight seasons of a long-running series. In the age of TikToks and Reels, streaming services are also trying to release short series, invite popular actors and tell complete stories that will attract viewers.
The past five years have seen the release of many miniseries in a wide variety of genres. We’ve rounded up the top ten, from Normal People to Easttown Mare.

If you prefer real-life stories about ordinary people—a little sad, a little funny—check out the series Normal People. Starring “Gladiator 2” star Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, who was recently seen in “Twister 2.”
The heartfelt story of the main characters brings to light very important and even painful topics. Many viewers noted that the series helped them draw important conclusions about some of their life situations, which acted on them to avoid making similar mistakes in real life.
Another project that is definitely worth your attention is ‘Queen’s Move’. The series is stunningly filmed and tells the story of Elizabeth Harmon and her love for chess. The creators took the film adaptation of the novel so seriously that they even hired chess consultants – sports master Bruce Pandolfini and grandmaster Garry Kasparov – so that all games and positions of the pieces on the field were realistic and correct.
