What should we look at first?

Fall is always the season of premieres, both for TV series and of course on the big screen. Movie fans are already making lists of what they’d rather watch and talk about. Luckily, there’s plenty of new content and plenty to choose from.

To make this choice easier for you, we’ve put together a selection of 7 upcoming premieres of the week: from the long-awaited sequel of a classic horror film to a foreign remake of a Russian comedy (what? yes!). Save it and plan your weekend: there’s definitely something to see in September.

Tim Burton fans, are you here? After 36 years (think of that number), the sequel to the famous “Beetlejuice” finally hit the big screens – the creators couldn’t resist calling it “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” of course. The film once again stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara; they were joined by Tim Burton’s new muse Jenna Ortega from Wednesday.

Fan opinions about the sequel are divided: for many, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” feels like a return to the roots, to the very gothic vibes that are inextricably linked to the 90s; while others argue that this is yet another attempt to parasitize on a once beloved cult story.

At the moment, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” has a 7.2 on Kinopoisk (which is already pretty good), and on Rotten Tomatoes – 76% from critics and 82% from viewers. These are excellent results that prove that it is definitely worth giving the sequel a chance, even if you are still on the side of the skeptics who think that the old stories should finally be left alone.
