Gold singer Loren Allred stunned Britain’s Got Talent judges by singing Never Enough from The Greatest Showman during the audition, after which she revealed that it was actually her own song.

While navigating the show’s semifinals on Thursday night, Judge Simon Cowell weighed in on allegations that the show was a “fix”.

Fans of the ITV show were not happy with the success of the singer, noting that she was already famous and signed a record deal before the show.

But because of the backlash, Simon stayed by Loren’s side while praising her performance in the semi-finals.

Acknowledging that he wanted her to win the semi-finals and make it to the final, the judge said, “We haven’t had a female winner so far this week and I hope that changes that after tonight.”

And as he had hoped, Loren made it to Saturday’s final after winning the audience vote that night.

But amid the controversy that ensued after the audition, a BGT spokesperson at the time told MailOnline: “While most people have heard of the famous Greatest Showman song, Loren is not a household name and deserves her spot on the stage. BGT.
