Fans are happy with Disney’s decision.
The last few years have been very difficult for Star Wars. Disney bosses have decided to release several series in the space opera universe every year. The number of projects has increased, but the quality leaves much to be desired.
Yes, the series “The Mandalorian” and “Andor” were beloved by fans and critics alike, but other projects only caused boredom and bewilderment among fans of the George Lucas franchise.
In June of this year, the series “Acolyte” failed miserably. Disney spent on its production more 100 million dollars. At the same time, Rotten Tomatoes users rated it as terrible 18% “freshness”.

The Acolyte’s failure also had one major positive side: Star Wars creative director Kathleen Kennedy finally realized that fans didn’t want to see their favorite franchise turned into a money-making tapestry.
Insiders learned that Disney producers decided to radically change the approach to producing new series in the Star Wars universe. Starting in 2025, Disney+ will release only one Star Wars series per year.
Fans were happy to hear about this, but some had a reasonable question: which of the series already announced for next year will be released next year?

Before the foreknowledge surfaced, Disney+ was planning to release the second seasons of Ahsoka and Andor next year. Now, those plans will have to be abandoned for good.
Fans are hoping that Andor will be the first to get a second season. This series has an excellent rating in 8.4 points on IMDb, while Ahsoka received everything from fans 7.5 points.
It looks like we’ll have to wait for Rosario Dawson’s return in 2026.
