The most underrated actor in Hollywood.

While Hollywood fans carry Meryl Streep, Daniel Day-Lewis and Leonardo DiCaprio in their arms, one actor who has starred in dozens of cult films remains criminally underrated.

Every one of you knows his face, but even some film critics do not remember his name. We are talking about the American actor John Ratzenberger, whose films received as much 27 Oscars.

Ratzenberger does not play the leading roles. This talented artist began his career in 1967 and quickly became one of the most sought-after “third-tier” actors.

You all remember this actor’s face, but you don’t know his exact name (and his films received 27 Oscars).

During his years in Hollywood, Ratzenberger managed to star in a number of universally recognized masterpieces. We have selected the most famous ones for you:

  • Gandhi, 1982
  • Superman, 1978
  • Star Wars: Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back, 1980
  • A Bridge Too Far, 1977
  • Ragtime, 1981
  • Valentino, 1977

You may have noticed that all the major roles in Ratzenberger’s career took place in the ’80s. But the actor will continue working in 2024.

The fact is that Ratzenberger became the official “mascot” of the Pixar studio in the early 2000s. The actor worked on the voice acting for each of the studio’s cartoons.

Some of his highlights include Hamm from Toy Story, Mac from Cars and Fritz from Inside Out. At the studio, Ratzenberger is considered a full-fledged member of the team, and some Pixar fans even believe in one sign: a cartoon without Ratzenberger in the cast can never be successful.
