Another lesson for directors: you have to come up with something yourself.

The influence of Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” on the film world is hard to dispute: perhaps the director’s most famous film, it has been spread in memes, quotes and iconic scenes.

It is not surprising that you would want to repeat such a success: but if you try to copy it blindly, you will end up with the same result as the 10 films we have collected for you today. That is, not really.

Why do we love ‘Pulp Fiction’? For everything that directors even today try so hard to copy: nonlinear storytelling, the complexity of multiple plots, signature humor and dialogue, and of course, Tarantino’s favorite gore. All of it was done with such skill and style that the film was destined to become a cult classic — and of course it became one.

Furthermore, ‘Pulp Fiction’, besides its well-deserved place in the cinematic hall of fame, is also a phenomenal commercial success. The budget of the film was very modest: only $8 million. All the more impressive is the number of box office receipts: $213 million!

Pulp Fiction was also selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as a “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” work.
