Netflix continues to add stars to the cast of One Piece season 2: Katey Sagal has joined the series

One Piece Season 2 will adapt five arcs from the manga, starting with Loguetown and ending with Drum Island.

As the filming process continued, news of the addition of the cast surfaced on the official Netflix account.

One of the newcomers to the cast is Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal.

She will play the role of Dr. Kureha, who helped raise future Straw Hat Pirates member Tony Chopper and set him on the right path.

But this is not the most interesting part: besides her shocking appearance, eccentric behavior with patients and love of drinking, she is 141 years old according to the canon.

Once upon a time, there was a heroine who was a pirate herself and was later nicknamed the “witch” for her incredible longevity and remarkable strength. Despite her strict nature, she protects those she loves and will never hurt them.

Considering how smart and charismatic Sagal Gemma Teller turned out to be, the mother of a biker gang leader, there’s no doubt that the image of an anime heroine would suit her.

Interestingly, Jamie Lee Curtis, known for the ‘Halloween’ franchise, initially wanted to take her place.

As a fan of the manga, the star herself wanted to be part of the project, but at the last minute it turned out that her schedule was incompatible with filming the show.

Katie is joined by Preacher’s Mark Harelik, who took on the role of the quack doctor Khirilyuk, who was directly involved in Chopper’s treatment and became his first nakama.
