Fans of Britain’s Got Talent have been baffled by the identity of a mystery act, but are now sure it could be a former Coronation Street actor who auditioned for the show.
Fans of Britain’s Got Talent are sure they have finally discovered the identity of the enigmatic act The Witch, and it could be a former Coronation Street star.
The witch, who still appears in costume, has onlookers scratching their heads predicting it could be anyone from Ant and Dec with a mask for co-star Stephen Mulhern.
But there could be a twist in the story, as fans now believe Corrie star Ian Bartholomew, who played the domineering Geoff Metcalfe in The Cobblestones, may be behind the act.
It was confirmed that Ian auditioned for the show with a performance of his song This Time It’s Forever, which left the judges in tears. But his audition never aired on TV.
Introducing himself to the judges during his hearing, Ian said, “I am from Cheshire. It was on Coronation Street. I played the evil Geoff Metcalfe. It was an unpleasant job. I started in 2018 and fell off a roof at last year’s show. I am 67 years old
“The song I sing was written by me and used in a campaign to help women raise awareness of domestic violence in women. I’m not here for myself, I’m here for charity and abuse victims. “
He added that he wrote the song during the first block, when domestic violence cases were skyrocketing, with three women dying every two weeks.
But could Ian have reversed the trend and also appeared as another actor? Fans certainly seem to think so, as one replied to a post about Ian: “She’s the witch!”
Another replied immediately: “You make me think now [because] I saw it was Stephen Mulhern!
“Stephen was considered someone else in life,” noted someone else.
