This morning, hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary discussed the recent libel case between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

The former couple disagreed after the Pirates of the Caribbean actor sued the Aquaman star in Fairfax, Virginia, claiming he slandered him in a 2018 opinion piece published by the Washington Post.

A jury found themselves in Johnny’s favor and Amber was ordered to pay £ 12 million in expenses to her ex.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, an insider hinted at what Amber’s future might be after sources said her career could be in rapid decline.

Expert Sam sheds some light on what may be in store for Amber Heard

Speaking from Los Angeles, Sam said, “Wil Johnny Depp will be returning to his acting career sooner than I think.

“Now I would describe it as remotely possible.”

He continued: “As for Amber Heard, I think it’s going to be very, very difficult to bring him back from here.

“Will she resume her life as an actress? It seems unlikely, could you become a lawyer, a spokesperson?

Amber recently lost her ex-husband's libel suit

“I think in parallel with Monica Lewinsky here in the US, I think it’s possible.”

Depp won the case on June 1 and found out the news on a night out in Newcastle with sensation Geordie Sam Fender and his friend Jeff Beck, with whom he is currently touring.

Speaking after the verdict, Johnny took to social media to post a statement claiming that his life had changed after Amber published the article six years ago.

Johnny Depp spent an evening with Sam Fender as the jury delivered the verdict

He said: “Six years later, the jury gave my life back. I feel truly honored.

“My decision to pursue this case, knowing full well the height of the legal obstacles I would face and the inevitable global spectacle in my life, was only made after careful consideration.

“From the beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. Telling the truth was something I owed to my children and everyone who supported me.

Johnny started a case after his ex-wife wrote an editorial detailing his experience of abuse, but was not named.

“I feel at peace knowing I finally made it.”

He added: “I am, and have been, overwhelmed by the overwhelming outpouring of love and support and kindness from everyone around the world.

“I hope that my search for the truth has helped others, men and women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those who support them never give up.

“I also hope that the prosecution will again be found innocent until proven guilty, both in court and in the media.”
