The House of the Dragon does not have to rest on its laurels for long.
At the end of June, the STV film company finally released a film that Russian film fans immediately dubbed “Game of Thrones” in Russian. There will also be cruel rulers, noble nobles and a fire-breathing predator, but the main feature, as it turns out, is not this.
The creators of the epic fairy tale “Gorynych” are rather reluctant to share new details about the plot of the film or its main features, but now they have made an exception.

Until July 16, we knew that on the screens we would see the character of Alexander Petrov – a sailor who miraculously ended up in a fairy-tale kingdom on his submarine, who should protect a small dragon, nicknamed Gorynych by the hero. Well, now the film’s screenwriter has hinted that there is a chance to aim not only at “House of the Dragon”, but also at “La La Land”.
“God! The film “Gorynych” is almost a musical! Yes, yes, the one with Alexander Petrov. “I discovered the talent of a songwriter,” says Alexander Arkhipov,” Susanna Alperina tells news from the fields of the Gorky Fest film festival.

Apparently, we are waiting for a bright and memorable adventure in the spirit of Slavic fairy tales and at the same time Hollywood blockbusters, richly flavored with worthy musical numbers. Will even a dragon really sing, or maybe Petrov will be “allowed” an imaginary microphone?
Russian viewers will be able to find out whether Gorynych can surpass HBO’s main hit on January 1, 2026 in all cinemas of the country.
