The film series has one major flaw.

Money Heist has become a benchmark in the world of heist movies and TV series. And it turns out that in Russia there is also a movie, which partly resembles the plot of the Spanish show. We tell you what it is called and whether it is worth watching.

What kind of movie is this?

We are talking about a film called “Robbery”. It was released in 2023 and the film was directed by Azamat Ismailov and Maksat Zhumaev. By the way, a sequel came out in January 2024. It is called “Robbery 2. New Chapter.”

The plot revolves around a gang of gangsters who commit a series of robberies. They don’t rob the bank, like the Spaniards, but the collectors. But there’s another similarity: the robbers deftly evade the police each time, finding themselves one step or even two steps ahead. But law enforcement agencies are having a hard time at the moment. Well, just like the professor, who deftly fooled the inspectors.

Before the thieves leave the city forever, they plan to commit the most dangerous and large-scale robbery. There is also one plus similarity here. It was exactly the scale of their robberies that the thieves in the Spanish version were known for. And the icing on the cake is that the heroes of ‘Robbery’ also wear masks. Admittedly, not as nice as the Spanish had.

It seems that based on the descriptions, the films are not bad at all, so you even want to Google them and watch them. But we hasten to disappoint you: judging by the reviews, the film is not worth your time. On Kinopoisk, the first part scored 6.3 points, and on IMDb – 6 points. And here’s how viewers who watched the film reacted to the film:

“There is a lot of empty talk and the level of criminals is absolutely kindergarten. Not interested,”

“So I can watch something from Kyrgyzstan again… A real “kindergarten””,

“I couldn’t stand this artificial articulation, I turned it off immediately.”
