At least they’re cooler than HBO’s latest season.
Good news for Game of Thrones and anime fans. If you don’t know what to watch, we have found 7 cool titles in the spirit of the cult HBO series. They have a great rating and an intriguing plot.
“The Legend of the Galactic Heroes”, 1988
The anime, although old, has a very high rating – on Kinopoisk – 8.7, on IMDb – 9. By the way, “The Game” itself on the second portal has a rating of 9.2 points, so the difference is minimal.
The action revolves around the long-lasting war between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance of Free Planets. Thousands of spaceships and millions of soldiers are involved in this conflict. And they are commanded by two most brilliant commanders and implacable opponents.
Perhaps the most visible in this title is the so-called political drama. But this is not the only aspect that the authors focus on. Here attention is paid to different areas: genealogies, military events, religion. In general, the anime is very powerful and epic. And some viewers even say that it is definitely cooler than the last season of Game of Thrones.
“Twelve Kingdoms”, 2002

If you do not want to see individual characters, but the picture as a whole, then this anime is for you. Briefly about the plot: the main character finds herself in a parallel world, similar to feudal China, to become the ruler of one of the twelve kingdoms. But not only her story is revealed here. The plot tells the story of various characters and travelers between worlds that are scattered in time from each other. The universe is very vast and rich, so in this respect it directly intersects with the stories of George RR Martin.
“Keeper of the Holy Spirit”, 2007

The plot revolves around a heroine named Balsa. She is a warrior, spear fighter and professional bodyguard. One day she finds herself in Yogo, where she hopes to simply repair a broken spear, but suddenly she finds herself “on duty” – an accident occurs on the bridge. Balsa, of course, comes to the rescue, not even suspecting how closely fate will connect her with the one she saved.
