Well, who should you believe now?

Stephen King is one of the most filmed writers in history, and it’s not just his genius and fame as the “king of horror” (although that is of course primarily the case). The writer himself encourages young directors by selling the rights to film adaptations of many of his works for a symbolic $10 on a special website.

But such generosity is a double-edged sword. Because it means: not every video adaptation will be successful just because the master’s name is in the credits. At the same time, most film adaptations of King’s works have become cinema classics, for example ‘It’, ‘Carrie’ or the creepy ‘The Shining’.

There were also failed films in the biography. Moreover, the writer made one with his own hands. This was his directorial debut – the film “Top Overdrive”. The film was liked by many viewers, but critics destroyed the writer’s brainchild, and they were repeated by, whoever you think, Quentin Tarantino. The director said that he tried to watch the imperishable king of horrors twice, but never got through the film completely.

To be fair, Stephen King didn’t mince his words. In a conversation with the press, he called Tarantino’s cult film ‘Kill Bill’ a mediocre film that doesn’t deserve much attention. This kind of quarrel with sarcastic remarks is very strange, by the way. Because both creators have repeatedly admitted to being fans of each other’s work.
