BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood spoke about her three encounters with Her Majesty during a special segment that saw her perform live from the Buckingham Palace gardens.
Carol Kirkwood has revealed that she has met the queen three times, telling viewers what the world-famous monarch in flesh and blood really was like.
The weather expert presented his real-time forecast segment from Buckingham Palace during the BBC breakfast on Wednesday 1 June, ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations starting later this week.
Platinum Jubilee celebrations are scheduled to honor Her Majesty’s 70 years of service to the country, with Brits enjoying a four-day weekend from Thursday.
It’s already been a busy year for Scottish climate star Carol, 60, as she told viewers last week that she was happily engaged.
However, the charismatic Carol has already returned to our screens to tell BBC viewers what conditions they can expect in the days to come, and this week she was in royal territory.
She had just finished her live weather segment from Buckingham Palace gardens when BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent wanted to tell viewers how many times Carol had met Her Majesty.
Sally said, “Carol, before I let you go I just wanted to share with everyone at home. You are a very lucky woman in many ways, aren’t you? And one of the ways you’re very lucky is that I know you. “… they’ve already met the queen.
“Not once, not two … how many times?”
Carol, who is also a national treasure, laughed before confirming that she was able to meet the monarch three times.
He said, “You gave it away, Ps. Three times. I have had the honor of meeting the queen three times, and she is a lovely woman, as she always feels, she has a great sense of humor.
She added, “Oh, it’s just lovely.”
