Zac Brown and wife Kelly Yazdi are divorcing after four months of marriage

Zach Brown45 years old, and his wife, Kelly Yazdi, 32 years old, are dropping out of school. The country singer and actress released a joint statement on Friday announcing their intention to divorce. The news comes just four months after they said “I do.”

“We are in the process of divorcing,” they said. Page six, in the statement before adding yes. “Mutual respect” remains.

“We wish each other the best and will always cherish our time together,” the former lovebirds continued. They also asked for “privacy” to be respected as they “navigate this personal matter.”

Zac and Kelly’s divorce comes after they got married in Georgia in August. Although both were quite private about their romance, Kelly at one point added Zac’s last name to her social media account, but has since deleted it. According to her website, the beauty is “a natural adventurer, event producer, SAG-AFTRA actress, stuntwoman and professional model.”

Before their wedding, Zac and Kelly got engaged in 2022 while vacationing in Hawaii. The news came in December of the same year and a source said PEOPLE that Zac asked the question right before. “He proposed to me in Hawaii a while ago,” the source said. “It was very intimate and the couple kept everything private.”

Zac and Kelly first sparked speculation about their engagement when Kelly was seen wearing an engagement ring in a July 2021 Instagram video posted to the Zac Brown Band account. She joined the group as they sang “Happy Birthday” to the smiling musician before the show.

Zac’s engagement came four years after his split from his ex-wife. Shellwith whom he has five children, including a son, Alexander and daughters Joni, Georgia, LuciaAND justice15. He and Shelly were married for twelve years before ending their romance in 2018.

“We feel fortunate to be on such an incredible journey in life and sometimes the journey starts to go in different directions,” the former couple said in a joint statement to PEOPLE in October 2018. “It is with deep love and respect that we announce that we are separating as a couple. “We have led a turbulent life together, becoming a beautiful family with five incredible children, and even though life has been rearranged a bit, our love and commitment to our family will always be present.”
