Only one of Ryan O’Neal’s four children attended his memorial service last week – while his son Griffin claimed he wasn’t even invited.

The now 82-year-old Oscar-nominated actor died of heart failure on December 8 in Los Angeles.

On Saturday, he was buried with his longtime lover Farrah Fawcett – although her friends claimed she did not want to be buried, but wanted to be cremated and have her ashes returned to Texas.

Patrick O’Neal was his only child who attended the funeral. His three remaining children, daughter Tatum, 60, and sons Griffin, 59, and Redmond, 38, were conspicuously absent.

O’Neal was last seen on November 6, 2023 in Brentwood, California when an assistant helped him out of his wheelchair and into his vehicle.

After the ceremony, Griffin claimed he was not informed about the service.

He told The Post: “I wasn’t even invited to see him off.

“I am the hated boy who spoke the truth.” Dark times in this family. Love means he never has to apologize – and Ryan never did that to anyone.”

O’Neal’s and his son Griffin have had a volatile relationship since childhood.

In a 2015 interview with People, Griffin said, “My life was a period of drug and alcohol breakdown.

“I had to self-medicate all my life because I had pain everywhere.

“In my family there were drugs all day, every day, everywhere.”

Griffin previously claimed in a 2009 interview with Vanity Fair that his father gave him cocaine when he was just 11 years old.

“He was an extremely abusive, narcissistic psychopath.” “He gets so angry that he has no control over what he does.”

Fawcett’s friends also told the New York Post that she doesn’t want to be buried in LA, but instead wants to be cremated and have her ashes returned to Texas.

Her friend from the University of Texas told The Post: “She never wanted a funeral or a memorial where people could come and stare.

“Ryan wrote this story like it was a big love story.”

O’Neal and Charlie’s Angels actress Fawcett began dating in the late 1970s before giving birth to their son Redmond in 1985.

The two were partners from 1979 until 1997, when he was caught in bed with actress Leslie Stefanson.

After their divorce, O’Neal’s daughter, Tatum, alleged that he physically abused Fawcett.

“He had a terrible temper and was very violent. “He beat her,” she said.

Fawcett and O’Neal rekindled their relationship in 2001.

O’Neal’s children were born to three different women. His eldest, Tatum and Griffin, were born to his first wife, actress Joanna Moore.

Patrick was born to actress Leigh Taylor-Young and his fourth child, Redmond van Fawcett.

When O’Neal spoke to Vanity Fair about fatherhood in 2009, he admitted, “I’m a hopeless father.”

‘I do not know why. I don’t think I should have been a father.

“Just look around at my work; You are either in jail or you should be.”
