Nicole O’Neil shocked The Real Housewives of Sydney fans when she skipped the Season 2 reunion due to an undisclosed “family commitment.”

Her absence sparked rumors of a feud with Nova FM star Joel Creasey, who not only hosted the reunion special, but also Nova’s official RHOS podcast.

Now Creasey has teamed up with entertainment reporter Jonathan Moran to set the record straight.

On the comedian’s Nova podcast, the couple hinted that Nicole could still have gone to the reunion if she wanted, as their big family engagement actually happened the night before filming.

“The reason she wasn’t there was because her daughter had her prom and Nicole was the host,” Moran said.

“So she had everyone over the night before [the reunion]and it went on until 3 a.m.,” he continued.

“And the ladies talk was at 4:30 in the morning, but I understand your argument, and I understand: Show business is show business, if you have to do it in an hour of sleep, then you do it in ‘ an hour of lack of sleep – or change all the school formalities,” he concluded.

Joel replied, “If anyone has the power to do that, it would be Nicole.”

He also said that they had to film the reunion with three separate scripts due to the uncertainty of whether or not Nicole would be present.

“A script for when she was there, a script for when she wasn’t there, and a script for when she was in the middle,” he explained.

The socialite opened up about her absence from filming in an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle last week.

“Unfortunately I couldn’t be there because like I said, family always comes first,” she said.

“I wish I could have attended the reunion because I’m not at all ashamed of my behavior and I’d be happy to confront anyone who wants to talk to me about the show,” she added.
