Katherine Jenkins has revealed the “terrible experience” she had when her husband Andrew Levitas directed the film Minamata for her.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show Christmas Special, which aired on Christmas Eve (December 24), the 43-year-old opera singer said that overall the collaboration “went pretty well”.
The Welsh mezzo-soprano told the presenter she ended up in a scene with Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy during filming.
Minamata is a 2020 biographical drama set in 1971 in which photographer W. Eugene Smith travels to a city in Japan plagued by mercury poisoning.
Katherine said: “I was somehow talked into the role. I don’t have much experience with this sort of thing.

“I was in a scene with Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy that was pretty intimidating. But they were very patient and encouraging.
“I didn’t see him [my husband] In such situations, it was wonderful to see what he does and how much he loves it.
“Obviously it worked out very well, because we founded a company together this year.” Of course we enjoy working together.”
This is not the first time they have worked together as they both co-own their gin company Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin.
Katherine added: “We have a gin company. We’re both creative.
“We don’t always agree and we don’t always have to agree, but there are times when we’re in a board meeting and I realize it sounds like we have a comfortable atmosphere and everyone else is like, “Okay, we we’ll worry about that later”…’.
Claudia Schiffer, Willem Dafoe, Ariana DeBose, Kevin Bridges, Romesh Ranganathan and Boy George joined her on the famous couch.
Katherine and Andrew (46) celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary in September.

The duo tied the knot at Hampton Court Palace in 2014 and the mezzo-soprano wore a traditional white Suzanne Neville gown.
The American artist and Katherine have two children together: Aaliyah Reign (seven) and Xander Robert (four).

Katherine and Andrew had been dating for a year and engaged for five months when they tied the knot.
Her first public appearance was when Andrew accompanied Katherine to collect her OBE at Buckingham Palace.
She was engaged to television presenter Gethin Jones in February 2011, but the two announced on 30 December 2011 that they were no longer together.
