BTS singer V apparently cuts his hair before his military service

Tell me it’s not like that! BTS singer V (real name Kim Tae Hyung) apparently cut his iconic hair before enlisting for military service in South Korea.

The “Slow Dancing” singer, 27, shared a photo to his Instagram Story in the early hours of Saturday, November 25, showing a pile of black hair on the floor. He added a haircut emoji, but didn’t offer a photo of the finished cut.

Fans went into a frenzy over her cryptic post. “TAEHYUNG CUT HIS LONG HAIR, I CAN’T DO IT ANYMORE,” one wrote on her hair. “

Some speculate that the “Dynamite” singer underwent a drastic haircut in preparation for mandatory military service. The artist’s agency, BIG HIT MUSIC, said V is “actively preparing” to work, alongside the members. RM (real name Kim Nam Joon), Jimin (real name jimin park), AND jungkook (real name Jeon Jungkook).

“We will quickly share additional updates on their military service programs. We promise unwavering support and affection throughout their entire tour of duty until they return safely,” BIG HIT MUSIC posted on Weverse days before V’s haircut. “Your love means a lot to them.”

V, RM, Jimin and Jungkook are not the first BTS members to have begun the enlistment process. Jin (real name Kim Seok Jin) enlisted in December 2022. In South Korea, every able-bodied man must enlist for military service before age 30 to serve 18 to 21 months, and Jin reported for duty just before his 30th birthday on December 4 .

Wait (real name Jung Ho-seok) began its enlistment in April 2023, followed by sugar (real name Min Yoon Gi) in September 2023.

The Korean government has debated whether to allow BTS to skip mandatory service, which some prominent public figures have been allowed to do because they serve their nation in other ways. However, the decision was made for the boys to enlist.

Despite the years-long hiatus, BTS will not disband during members’ military service. During this time they focus on their individual projects but plan to reunite in the future.

“We could focus on our solo work this time and later when we meet again as a group, this synergy will be unmatched,” V said during the group’s FESTA 2022 video. “We will be better than before”
