Reese Witherspoon’s son Deacon Phillippe , 20, was spotted hanging out with friends in New York … after being slammed as a “fake baby” for flaunting a luxury student apartment.

Deacon Phillippe was with friends in New York City over the weekend.

The 20-year-old New York University student, whose mother is actress and producer Reese Witherspoon, was dressed casually in a black and gray plaid jacket and beige pants.

He wore his outer layer over a black crewneck sweater and wore a black baseball cap.

Deacon wore a pair of black rubber-soled sneakers and also square, black-rimmed glasses.

The outing comes after Phillippe was branded a “fake baby” after he bragged about his expensive West Village apartment online.

Phillippe faced heavy criticism after giving a tour of his expensive apartment in the Big Apple.

Earlier this week, he showed TikTok star Caleb Simpson the inside of his apartment for his latest video.

But viewers were stunned by the scale of the sprawling space as the rising star dodged questions about the cost of the rent.

Some assumed the apartment was so large that his parents, Witherspoon and father Ryan Phillippe, had to foot the bill.

The music student was dubbed a “Nepo baby”, a term that refers to the children of celebrities and other powerful people.

Simpson, who regularly documents the homes of city residents, captioned his post: “Location: West Village. Occupation: Student,” referring to Deacon.

Viewers were upset that Simpson didn’t realize Deacon was the son of Hollywood stars.

“Occupation: rich,” wrote one mocking commenter.

Earlier this year, Forbes named Reese the “richest self-made actress” based on her $440 million fortune.

A person close to the matter said Simpson should have asked Deacon, “How much is Reese Witherspoon paying for your rent?”

Deacon graduated from Mountain High School in June 2022 and began studying music at NYU last fall.
