It also offers a glimpse into the studio, designs and clothes that Christian Dior created in collaboration with the House of Dior.

The soundtrack for the series was produced by Grammy Award winner Jack Antonoff and features covers of popular songs from the early to mid-20th century performed by artists such as Bleachers, Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, Matty Healy (The 1975) , Beabadoobee, Nick Cave, perfume genius and more.

“The New Look” is produced by Apple Studios and DB-AK Productions and written, executive produced and directed by Kessler.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Baker also serve as executive producers.

Maisie’s character Catherine Dior, sister of Christian Dior, was a pivotal figure in the French Resistance.

She was arrested and tortured by the Gestapo in 1944 and taken to the Ravensbrück concentration camp before escaping near Dresden in 1945.

As Christian’s sister, she became the inspiration for his famous Miss Dior fragrance.
