Brie Larson surprised fans at The Marvels Movie Theater Pop-In held in New York City on Friday.

The 34-year-old actress seemed to enjoy her time at the event and chatted with her co-star Samuel L. Jackson.

The actor, whose latest film drew polarized reactions from critics, opted for an all-black outfit with a leather jacket over a tailored blouse.

Larson also wore a maxi skirt and a pair of knee high boots while attending the event.

The Oscar-winning artist’s light blonde hair contrasted well with the dark tone of her outfit.

The actress reprized her old role as Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, in “The Marvels”, which was released in theaters in the United States on Friday.

She made her superhero debut in 2019’s Captain Marvel and reprized her role in Avengers: Endgame, which was also released that year.

The Marvels focused on the character, who along with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, played by Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani, after the three unexpectedly began to switch places with each other.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, the cast of the film is completed by artists such as Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon and Gary Lewis.

Jackson also reprized his old role as Nick Fury in the newly released film.

Development on the feature officially began in 2020 and physical production of the project spanned from 2021 to 2022, although reshoots took place earlier this year.

The Marvels debuted in Las Vegas last Tuesday, although the stars were unable to attend the premiere event due to the now-ended SAG-AFTRA strike.

The film has since received mixed reviews from critics and currently holds a 62% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking about the role of Captain Marvel in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Larson admitted that she initially feared that taking on a high-profile role would prevent her from pursuing her personal interests.

She remembers: “I was afraid of what would happen to me. I thought, “What world is this, where are these decisions that I have to make as an artist?”

The actress then explained that she stands by her decision to play the superhero, pointing out that she has tried to keep her professional and personal life separate in recent years.

“Every time I feel like I’m being put on too much of a pedestal, my job is to figure out how to remove that from myself,” she said.
