Academy of Country Music Awards and Prime Video extend TV contract

The ACMs remain in place. The Academy of Country Music, Dick Clark Productions and Prime Video announced today that the annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast on Amazon’s streamer for the next several years.

It was also announced today that the 59th ACMs will take place in May at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

The news comes after the 2023 ACM Awards, where Chris Stapleton won Entertainer of the Year for the first time, attracted more than 7.7 million viewers on Prime Video. The 2022 broadcast marked the first time a major awards show was streamed exclusively live on an SVOD platform.

“When Prime Video debuted the 2022 ACM Awards, we were overwhelmed by the response from our global audience,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “We couldn’t be more excited to continue our relationship with the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions over the next two years, especially during the show’s 60th anniversary in 2025.”
