And never before in my life could I have said that.” The mother of one even admitted that, after revealing her diagnosis, she fears that she might confuse potential suitors. “I think the word disability, because I said it was, confuses people,” Selma explained. “Like I don’t have a vagina.”

Matters of the heart haven’t always been easy for the actress, who said she hasn’t dated since being diagnosed with the disease five years ago. “I had a bad relationship,” she shared with the media. “I didn’t realize how emotionally abusive and controlling they were, taking advantage of knowing me at a really vulnerable time.” She Selma added that she, at the time, believed she “deserved” the abuse. “I was convinced this was what I deserved,” she added. “When you find yourself in a difficult situation, you may encounter opportunistic people. “It’s really dangerous.”
