Notorious block buyer Danny Wallis has blamed former Victorian premier Dan Andrews after he was forced to put his magnificent Melbourne apartment, which was renovated by well-known block bosses Mitch and Mark, up for sale.
The home is being auctioned with an estimated price of $3.2 million to $3.5 million.
Wealthy lister Wales bought the four-bedroom, four-bathroom St Kilda apartment at the end of The Block’s 2019 season for a staggering $3.374 million.
The entrepreneur is selling due to new property laws introduced by the retiring Andrews.
Wales told the Herald Sun he was offloading the fabulous “party house” in anticipation of a property tax increase in January 2024.

Under the new rules, owners must pay property taxes on second properties valued at $50,000 or more. The current threshold is $300.00.
“Property taxes are way too expensive and you can’t get a reasonable return these days,” Wallis said.
Wales’ bayside apartment is located in the former Oslo Hotel, a St Kilda landmark dating back to the 1850s. It was last listed as a rental in August for $2,250 per week.
Highlights of the sprawling, multi-level luxury condo include breathtaking ocean views, high ceilings and beautiful bronze, marble and American oak finishes.
There is also an elegant central courtyard, a large kitchen with a breakfast island and backlit quartz backsplashes.
Other features include a rooftop barbeque kitchen, covered entertaining terrace and a stunning dressing room.
There is also a gas fireplace, a self-contained ‘entertainer’s floor’, double glazing and keyless entry.

Wales has spent more than $30 million in recent years buying properties at recent auctions on The Block.
The high-profile businessman made headlines on Nine’s popular renovation show last year when he won the deal on Omar and Oz’s property.
Controversial fools Omar and Oz walked away with $1.6 million after Wallis entered into a bidding war with her “millionaire boyfriend” and forced him to buy the house for $5.6 million.
Wallis later admitted he had spent “too much” on the property and admitted the bidding war was simply a battle of egos.
