Matthew Perry’s family breaks silence after his shocking death: ‘We are heartbroken’

Matthew PerryThe family broke their silence in a joint statement revealing they were “heartbroken, just one day after his shocking death on Saturday. OH Friends The actor, who was 54 years old, leaves behind his parents, Susanna Langford AND John Bennett Perryjust like your stepmother, Debbie Boyleand the stepfather, Keith Morrisonand in addition to calling their loss “tragic”, they all expressed their gratitude for the support they received.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother,” the family said in a statement PEOPLE. “Matteo brought so much joy to the world, as an actor and as a friend. “You all mean a lot to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”

Matthew’s parents were photographed and filmed outside their home in Los Angeles, California, shortly after his death became public. They looked somber and seemed to take comfort as they spoke to authorities and other people in the area. At one point, they passed in a vehicle as they entered and exited the driveway of the home.

Matthew was reportedly found unconscious in a hot tub at his home and was pronounced dead from apparent drowning. TMZ reported. Vehicle also revealed that prescription drugs were found in the home, but no illicit drugs, and a toxicology report is pending, but results could take months. He has previously spoken openly about his battle with drug addiction, but the official cause of his death has yet to be announced.
