Amanda Abbington’s fiance Jonathan Goodwin shared another cryptic quote on Thursday following the actress’ exit from Strictly Come Dancing.
The 43-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star suggested the problems were “beneath the surface” as he shared a photo of an iceberg.
It comes after it was revealed that Amanda, 51, had pulled out of the show for “personal reasons” after she and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice failed to appear in last Saturday’s episode.
Amanda didn’t say why she quit, but said she didn’t take the decision “lightly,” as insiders claimed her time on the show was “plagued by problems.”
And now Jonathan has shared a cryptic quote on Instagram: “When you see an iceberg, you can be forgiven for not realizing how much is below the surface.”

It came after he shared another meaningful quote when Amanda’s farewell message first broke: “We can be so hard on ourselves… be our own worst critic…”

In a resignation statement this week, she thanked her team, but without mentioning Giovanni by name, she wrote: “It is with the greatest regret that I have had to leave Strictly.” This decision was not an easy one for me, but for personal reasons I am not moving forward.
“It was an absolute pleasure to work with my competitors. They are a great, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and will miss competing with every Friday and Saturday.”

He captioned the photo: “Amanda. I’m so sad that we can’t continue, but I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and send you so much love.”
On Monday’s It Takes Two, the show confirmed Amanda’s departure and released a statement saying: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue on Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. “The show wishes her all the best then for the future.”
A Strictly insider told MailOnline of Amanda’s withdrawal: “Unfortunately, Amanda has had to think about this since the end of last week.”
“It was a devastating time for Amanda. Her Strictly journey was full of problems, but she just didn’t believe there was another option. As difficult as it was, there was a chance they could win.”
After seven years on the BBC show, some Strictly viewers believe this could be Giovanni’s last season appearing with a celebrity partner.
One wrote: “I guess this is your last year… you’ve outgrown Strictly and I think you know it.”
Another said, “I am devastated for you.” I supported and voted for both of you. Will we see you dancing on Strictly next year?
But sources close to Giovanni say that although these talks will not take place until 2024, he is not even thinking about leaving the show.
Apparently Amanda didn’t know what she was signing up for by signing up for the BBC dance show – there was speculation that she failed to make friends with Giovanni.
The star was “exhausted and vulnerable” and insiders were not surprised she left the show, the Telegraph said.
