In October 2023, it was reported that Jenelle and David were under investigation and, as a result, could face charges of assault and negligence following Jace’s three escape attempts. TMZ She claimed that after Jace escaped, he told authorities that his stepfather David had assaulted him. The MTV alum’s eldest son, Jace, was born in 2009 during his high school years. Jenelle welcomed her first child with her then-boyfriend. Andrea LewisHowever, the two broke up shortly after Jace’s arrival, as reported by PEOPLE. At the time of Jace’s birth, Jenelle and Andrew played her mother, Barbara Evans, legal guardian of the child. From that moment on the father was no longer involved in his son’s life.

Years later, in March 2023, Barbara gave her daughter custody of Jace, after more than a decade without doing so. Much more recently, the proud mother took to Instagram on August 2, 2023 to celebrate her son’s 14th birthday. Five years after Jenelle gave birth to her first child, she welcomed her second child, Kaiser Orion Griffith. On June 30, 2014, her second child was born, in the midst of her relationship with her now ex, Natalia Griffith. The former lovebirds ended their romance in August 2015, notably shortly after Kaiser’s first birthday. Since then, Jenelle and Nathan have argued several times over custody of their son PEOPLE.

Jenelle has primary custody of the nine-year-old, while his father has him “every other day,” according to the magazine’s 2020 report. She once shared with PEOPLE about her pregnancy experience with Kaiser. “I almost lost him once during my pregnancy, it was my second child, Kaiser,” she told the outlet. “The epidural just didn’t work and they came and fixed it, [but] it didn’t work again. So they just said, “Well, we really have to do this.” “Then I had a natural birth and it was the greatest pain of my life.”

A few months before David and his wife got married, they welcomed their daughter. Ensley Jolie Eason, on January 24, 2017. The little girl, now six, is Jenelle’s first and only child, and many of her fans constantly comment on how much they look alike. Jenelle briefly lost custody of Ensley and Kaiser in 2019 after David allegedly shot their dog to death for biting her daughter.

She later took to Instagram to write a statement about her children in June. “It’s the little things in life. With everything that has happened lately, I realized that a child’s love for her mother will never disappear. “No distance, no time, no person can change this special love,” she wrote at the time, via PEOPLE.
