Cher Addresses Old Rivalry With Madonna, Agrees That Singer ‘Can’ Be ‘Bad’

Chermeat with Virgin It may be in the past, but the 77-year-old didn’t hold back when discussing her long-running feud with the 65-year-old during an Oct. 20 interview with the Los Angeles Times. When asked what the “argument” was between her and M, the brunette beauty quickly hung up on her. “It’s not a fight. Actually, I like it. But come on,” Cher joked.

The reporter continued: “Are you saying she’s bad?” to which he Burlesque The star agreed. “It could be,” Cher said, before adding that the drama is now a thing of the past. “We buried that hatchet a long time ago because I called her a much worse name and she forgave me.” Although the pop sensation refused to repeat the comment, Cher once called Madonna a “spoiled brat” and a “b***” during a live television interview (Look here).

Moments after opening up about their previous fight, Cher praised the “Material Girl” hitmaker for her decade-long success. “But I tell you this: There is no one like her who was aware and knew everything before anyone else,” she explained. “I mean, she knew what was going to happen and she was right. “I always thought this was her greatest gift: being able to know trends before any of us.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the “I Got You Babe” co-creator opened up about her romance with Alexandre ‘AE’ Edwards, 37 years old. “I’m so happy with Alexander,” Cher swooned. The journalist also noted that at that moment she had pointed to the huge diamond ring in her hand. “He gave it to me last Christmas,” the Grammy winner said. Although she had a stone on her finger, Cher clarified that it was not an engagement ring. “Not really. He just wanted to give it to me,” she admitted. “I normally wear it on my right hand because he said, ‘It’s the right ring for the right woman on the right hand.’”

Almost a year ago, in December 2022, a source close to the couple said this exclusively Hollywood life that the ring was actually just a “gift” for Cher. “AE and Cher are not engaged, but he wanted to show Cher how much he cares about her and he thought the ring was absolutely beautiful,” the source said at the time. “He believes she deserves the world and he wanted to give her a sincere sign.” The pair first sparked romance rumors in November 2022 after they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles. Later that month, Cher hit back at the haters after they pointed out the age difference. “On paper it looks strange (until 2 ME) says AE [heart emoji] “He doesn’t know math,” she said tweeted.
