Bob George, who served as producer of the dramas novelty, Zoe And End, beginningdied Tuesday of injuries sustained in a bicycle accident in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles.
According to author and actor Ben York Jones, George was hit by a car immediately after opening the door of a parked car on the cycle path.
Born in Peoria, Illinois, George was a manufacturing accountant Armageddon (1998), pearl harbor (2001), The sum of all fears (2002), three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and The lone rider (2013).
“We lost the beloved, sweet and virtuous Bob George this week,” York Jones wrote on Instagram. “Bob was a friend and co-worker. He has produced NEW things and projects that have not yet been realized. His smile was unmistakable and his demeanor was respectful. He was quietly mad and wanted to laugh. I loved Bob. He died suddenly in a bicycle accident on Tuesday. He cycled everywhere. He continues in our hearts as they break with his partner Yasmine, his family and the loss of our friend.
His film resume includes working as a production consultant Else (2014), before producing his first feature film, novelty (2017). The movie debuted at Sundance and was acquired by Netflix.
It followed Zoe (2018), which debuted at Tribeca End, beginning (2019), acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
George and Jones worked on another Doremus film, Aurora, of CJ Entertainment, at the time of his death. He also served as a production consultant for the upcoming action thriller. Tin soldier.
Survivors include his wife, artist Yasmine Nasser Diaz, and his sister Jennifer.
