Anna Milan One of the great dreams of his life has come to an end and now it’s time to enjoy it. And that is none other than the purchase of a house in the heart of Madrid and its subsequent extensive reform. The task was not easy as they made what was a bedroom a dining room and what was a kitchen in rooms. But by his side he had his trusted friend and interior designer, Fabián Ñíguez, who guided him through this process that led to a house full of light, durable and that faithfully reflects the personality of the actress.
How was the process? Ana has shot a miniseries for the magazine ADVERTISEMENT, specializing in decoration and interior design, to show us all how he carried out the facelift of his home in Madrid. Transforming something flat into a space full of inspirations and imprinted with the owner’s personality was the big challenge and we succeeded. The first stop he makes in the video is the entrance, which curiously is also the kitchen, something that responds to an obvious reason: “I saw the kitchen as a welcome. Everyone knows that most parties start and end in the kitchen,” says the main character.
Ana Milan reveals that she conceived it so that she could cook while her friends accompanied her and watered the palate with a good wine. For this reason, worksheets are given special importance. Modules that the interpreter adapted to her needs, lifting them one meter to adapt them to her height. In the kitchen, decoration plays a very important role, especially objects that have a special meaning for Ana. An urn full of paper bow ties made by a friend of hers, a portrait painting as a gift from the director of Camera Cafe, a toaster gift from a friend, etc. But there’s also a decorative head he stole from Nuria Roca, “Nuria, she’s here,” Milan jokes. Nor is the jewel in the crown: a chandelier.
The next room in the house is an imposing living room, “a meeting place for my friends and a place for me to rest”, in which a Juan Gatti wallpaper, inspired by Yves Saint-Laurent, gives the room a retro-chic touch. She loves this design so much that the central motif inspired the door that separates the living room from the kitchen. An artistic gift for the senses. The following that Ana Milan teaches us in her: house tour it is his office, where he sits “to work, study or make collages”. This is where more pre-reform furniture can be seen as it has kept all the cabinetry but restored them and changed the handles. She is especially excited when she shows everyone her fireplace, which is from the 19th century and made of hand-carved Carrara marble. To decorate the upper part, he chose a sculpture by Íñigo Manterola and two old paintings of Paris and New York. Ana Milan has an exquisite taste for decoration, something you can see in sculptures, pillows, lamps and other elements. There’s no shortage of a photo of her with Robert de Niro from the day they met or books on fashion.
There is no shortage of personal stories worth telling on this guided tour of her home: “When I was little I lived in a town in Albacete called Almansa, I lived there until I was eight, despite being in Alicante was born My neighbors Marta and Ángela They were always at my house or I was with them and there were some dragons there that I loved I lost sight of them 30 years passed and when we saw each other again told I told them that I loved them. Next time we saw each other, they brought me one, the only one they had left and it was a gift that made me very excited,” says the main character of the video.
On the tour, seeing his bedroom could not be missed. Very bright and with a harmonious play of colors, with a huge bath inside to have moments of real pleasure. The bright yellow headboard stands out, in velvet, with an ear-shaped finish to make it feel more collected. Finally, it shows her dressing room and her bathroom, where she rests, pampers herself and starts each day.
