I’m A Celeb’s Gillian McKeith says she wondered if her former nemesis Shaun Ryder had a “brain transplant” after the pair “got on well”.

The duo previously feuded during the 2010 series, but reunited during the final All-Star season.

The TV personality (63) made the confession after she and Shaun (60) became the first stars to leave the camp during Friday’s episode.

She said: “I heard a rumor he was going in and I was shocked. I thought I didn’t know how it was going to play out because we were kind of arch rivals in 2010, as you probably know.”

“When I saw him when I arrived, I thought oh no, it’s him! I said, “Hi Shaun,” and I felt something shift, even in that moment. He was actually very hospitable to me.’

She continued, “We got to do a chest challenge together and got on really well. He was singing my praises. I was like, ‘Who is this guy?’

“He was like she’s smart, she’s so intelligent, she’s this, she’s that – every compliment you can think of is flying out of his mouth.”

“It was crazy. Who knows what’s going on. I was like, he has a brain transplant, what’s going on?’.

“Yes, we clicked. we’re round And it shows you that a relationship can come full circle and that it doesn’t have to live in the past. It’s a life lesson for everyone.”

During the duo’s fiery feud in 2010, Shaun branded the TV nutritionist “fucking annoying” and told hosts Ant & Dec: “If Gillian was my wife, she’d be in pieces in a plastic bag, deep in a hole in the backyard.’

Shaun, Phil Tufnell and Andy Whyment left the Savannah Scrub and headed to the main camp, where they were told they would be taking part in the series’ first attempt at survival.

Each chose a different celebrity to date them, and the losing pair would leave the camp for good – with Shaun choosing former nemesis Gillia

The couples are handcuffed to each other and forced to retrieve keys and wrenches from three boxes full of creepy animals to free themselves.

However, Gillian refused to put her in the first box because she was afraid of the snakes inside, leading to her and Shaun being the first to leave the camp, with fans chanting that the nutritionist “doesn’t even try have” to win the task.

Phil got off to a flying start with Georgia Toffolo, followed shortly by Andy and Jordan Banjo.

Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment at Shaun’s departure after he was previously crowned king of the jungle.

While others called Gillian “annoying” and said she acted on camera and feigned fear.

One wrote: “Poor Shaun. It’s good that Gillian is gone. Irritating Woman” and “Lovely Obvs, Gillian didn’t even try to frame poor Shaun”

And: ‘Gillian didn’t even try!’.

While another said: “Shaun takes one for the team. I’ll be upset to see him go but happy to be rid of Gillian.

Someone else wrote: “Gotta love Shaun he knew it was curtains so he saved everyone from the absolutely horrible and fake Gillian. Shaun the team player”.
