Aaron Taylor-Johnson shared a special video message introducing excited attendees at Monday’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas to the first gruesome, blood-spattered footage from his upcoming movie, Kraven The Hunter.

The 32-year-old Englishman, who previously played superheroes Pietro Maximoff and Kick-A**, confirm: “Will it be rated R? Hell yeah, it’s rated R.

This is the first time Sony Pictures has limited a Marvel feature to fans over 18 and contestant Rob Keyes tweetedis it because Aaron’s titular character bit into a poacher’s flesh and spat it out in the preview?

Marvel previously released the R-rated Logan and Deadpool films, but Sony always rated their previous Marvel films (Spidey films led by Tom Holland, Venom and Morbius) as PG-13.

Taylor-Johnson beat out Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, John David Washington and Adam Driver for the multiple role of furry big game hunter and Russian conservationist Sergei Kravinoff.

Kraven – who debuted in 1964 when Stan Lee and Steve Dikto wrote The Amazing Spider-Man #15 – was also seen killing men with spears, crossbows and primitive claw-shaped weapons.

The two-minute teaser revealed that Boston Strangler star Alessandro Nivola was playing the main antagonist The Rhino, but only his gray arm was shown.

“I only physically transform in the last few moments of the movie, so it’s just a classic villain role,” the 50-year-old SAG Award winner told THR last August, without naming.

“It had a very interesting, complex psychology and personal story to draw from, and the film has a time warp so the character changes a lot from where the film started. It was as much an opportunity to act as any other film I’ve done.”

Oscar winner Russell Crowe’s mysterious character turns out to be Kraven/Sergei Kravinoff’s Russian aristocrat with an American accent.

Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose plays the voodoo priestess Calypso, who creates an herbal remedy that extends Kraven’s life and gives him the strength, speed and senses befitting a jungle cat.

Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott will take on the villainous role of The Foreigner and The Pale Blue Eye star Fred Hechinger as Kraven’s half-brother, Dmitri Smerdyakov/Chameleon.

JC Chandor’s Kraven the Hunter is released in US and UK theaters on October 6th.
