“Hey guys,” he said. Hugh Jackman at the beginning of the video, he posted it on social media on April 3rd. In the video, Hugh, 54, was sporting a bandage on his nose and before anyone could suggest he had undergone cosmetic surgery, the Deadpool III Star said it was due to something serious. “I just did two biopsies. I just went to see my doctor Dr Hierro who is great. And he saw two things: could it be or not? [Basal Cell Carcinoma], in your opinion. She does not know.
You’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. And I will continue to talk about it if necessary. If only one person remembers to use high SPF sunscreen, I’m happy. pic.twitter.com/J1srAzWQt0

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer, according to the Mayo Clinic. It often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin, and most basal cell carcinomas result from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. Hugh assured his fans that he would find out about the diagnosis in “two or three days” and that he would let everyone know as soon as he did.
“Just to remind you that basal cells in the world of skin cancers are the least dangerous of all,” she said. “However, may I take this opportunity to remind you that summer is coming for us in the Northern Hemisphere. Use sunscreen. It’s not worth it. It doesn’t matter how much you want to tan, trust me. Trust me. Trust me.”

Basal cell carcinoma rarely spreads beyond its original site. The disease is easily treated if caught early, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. It is a very common form of skin cancer that is diagnosed approximately 3.6 million times a year in the United States. This form of cancer can appear as a slightly light-colored growth or as a brown, black, or blue lesion. It can also be a flat, scaly patch with a raised border or a white, waxy, scar-like lesion.
This isn’t Hugh’s first collection of basal cells. biopsied on February 2017May 2014, November 2013 e August 2021 (h/t NBC News), in each case posting their experience as a way to raise awareness about skin cancer, while also urging their followers to be careful when stepping out in the sun.
Hugh wisely relied on medicine rather than Wolverine’s healing factor when it came to these cancer scares. “You’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before,” she captioned his April 3 video. “And I will continue to talk about it if necessary. If only one person remembers to use a high SPF sunscreen, I’m happy.”
