Filming for the new season of Channel Nine’s hit renovation show The Block will begin in just a few days.
Melbourne’s Hampton East’s charming St. buzzing with activity as five properties purchased last year for a whopping $14.3 million are ready for production, with major extensions already added to the rear of each property, The Herald Sun reports. .
The houses at 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 Charming St. was purchased by MicJoy Pty Ltd, a Nine company, in separate off-market transactions.
The most expensive of the series, 20 Charming St, cost a whopping $3.5 million when it was purchased last July.
Only one of the five properties purchased along the row of houses with house numbers 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 has two bedrooms. The other four brag three to four bedrooms.

The size of the individual blocks varies between 575 and 703 m².
The Block filmed the 2021 season in neighboring Hampton, just two miles from the 2023 location.
Buyer’s agent Denise Jacobs, who sold her own Hampton home to Nine for $1.59 million ahead of The Block’s 2021 season, said East Hampton was “blown away” despite being Hampton’s “poor cousin” which is usually more expensive is.

Describing Charming Street as “fantastic”, she said: “It’s a happy little pocket and there’s some lovely, established property.
Prices buyers paid for the 2021 Hampton homes ranged from $2.3 million to $3 million, so fans should expect similar prices for East Hampton.
Jacobs added that The Block’s 2023 season will be “easier” for producers than the current season.
Filming in Gisborne, Victoria, a 40-minute drive from Melbourne, The Block 2022 is billed as one of the most ambitious seasons to date.
The teams each build a house on 10 hectares of land.
