Blonde was voted worst picture at the Razzie Awards, while Elvis was one of the other big “winners” at the event.
The Marilyn Monroe biopic, starring Ana de Armas, took home dubious honors at the annual Golden Raspberry Awards – which honor worst film – as well as worst screenplay for writer-director Andrew Dominick.
Before Sunday’s Oscars celebrated the best films of the season, Saturday’s Razzie Awards chose the worst.
Awards bosses said Blonde – which was nominated for eight Razzies – was “misogynistic, lascivious and treacherous” and “shamelessly exploited the memory of the late Marilyn Monroe”.
They received the Worst Picture Award for “Good Mourning”, “Pinocchio”, “The King’s Daughter” and “Morbius”.

Awkward: Meanwhile, Tom Hanks took home worst supporting actor and worst film combination – for himself and ‘his latex face’ – for his work on Elvis (Austin Butler pictured)

Not happy: Organizers noted that the Hollywood favorite “has spent his career honing his acting skills with great success, going a bridge too far with his portrayal of Colonel Tom Parker in the otherwise excellent biopic Elvis”.

Tom was also nominated for worst actor for his role in Pinocchio, but was beaten for the dubious award by Morbius star Jared Leto, whose co-star Adria Arjona picked up worst supporting actor.
The Razzies themselves accepted the Worst Actress award, receiving an award for the first time in their history, after making the much-criticized decision to include 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong in the category for her performance in the film flop Firestarter, which she later withdrew.
Razzies co-founder John Wilson previously said of the decision: “Sometimes you do things without thinking and then you get called out for it. Then you get it. This is why the Razzies were created in the first place.
“Recent legitimate criticism of the selection of 11-year-old Armstrong as a nominee for one of our awards has reminded us of how insensitive we have been in this case.
As a result, we have removed Armstrong’s name from the final vote that our members will cast next month.
“We also believe Ms. Armstrong owes a public apology, and we want to say that we apologize for any pain she has experienced as a result of our decisions.”

Controversy erupted on Tuesday when Armstrong was nominated for worst actress for her performance in the movie Firestarter. Many people took to social media to call out the awards for bullying and a toxic message in the nomination of a teenage artist.
Among those who took to social media to express their displeasure was 11-year-old child actor Julian Hilliard, who tweeted: “The raids are already vicious and classless but nominating a child is just disgusting and wrong. Why would a child risk more bullying or worse? To be better.’
In response to a user calling the show a joke, Hilliard replied: “No, not when it’s about a child. This “joke” can have very negative consequences. You’ve crossed a line.”
Another user commented on the nomination: “This is off the beaten track. As a critic I believe in being honest about films but there’s no need to be cruel. To treat a child like that treated is outrageous.’

Get it right: The Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, removed Ryan Kiera Armstrong from their ballots after nominating the youngster in the worst actress category; seen in October 2022

Do it better: After significant online backlash for including a minor among its nominees, the parody awards ceremony, which annually honors the worst film, has made the decision to introduce an age limit for nominations
One user suggested that the show should withdraw Armstrong’s nomination after last year’s Willis decision.
“Just like when they revoked Bruce Willis’ Razzie Noms last year, I’m calling on the #Razzies to revoke Ryan Kiera Armstrong’s Nom in Worst Actress,” the user wrote. “You crossed the line. She is a child. Children should be excluded when it comes to raids. It’s time to retire and end it!’
Another user suggested that “nominating a young talent is not fair” as they are still learning, and “is the equivalent of someone cooking a complicated recipe for the first time”.
Armstrong also appeared in American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021 and was most notably in the western The Old Way, starring Nicolas Cage, which came out earlier this month.
