Everything, everywhere, all at once Writer, director and co-producer Daniel Kwan (who with partner Daniel Scheinert is simply “The Daniels”) posted a series of messages on Twitter today.
In the strip, he reflected on the wild ride his film enjoyed in the run-up to Sunday’s Oscars. But he warned fans not to be disappointed if it didn’t win every category in which it was nominated. He urged them to be “gracious and kind” tomorrow, “especially when we don’t accept awards that you may have deserved.”
Kwan also hinted that he will be taking a social media hiatus after the Oscars.
His string:
I will probably take a break from social media the day after tomorrow. The last thing I ask of the fans of our film is to be gracious and kind tomorrow, especially if we don’t win awards that you thought we deserved.

I love all the films we compete against for different reasons. Most importantly, I grew to love the people behind each of the films as much as I got to know them this year. I already have everything I could ever want and there is no need to be angry on our behalf.

No film deserves to be swept, no matter how good it is and I cheer for my competitors. Thank you for being on this wild ride with me, all your support has meant a lot to me. Goodbye

PS for the people who hate the movie with all their being: I’m sorry we ruined your cinema forever. I hope we can make it up with you next time
