The Fabelmans, the Inisherin Banshees, Neville the shell with shoes And Matilda the Musical by Roald Dahl were among the big screen winners at the Casting Society’s 38th annual Artios Awards on Thursday.
The casting professionals behind it Abbott Elementary School Succession Hacks And Yellow jackets took home some of the best TV gear at the trio of Artios ceremonies in Los Angeles, New York and London. Rita Moreno was one of the special awardees of the Artios Awards 2023. The EGOT winner, whose career spans over 70 years – from sing in the rain And Me and the king By The Electric Company and both West side story Movies – received the Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement from her 80 for Brady Opponent Glynn Turman. Academy Award winner Olivia Spencer presented Leslee Feldman, Head of Casting at Amblin Partners, with the Hoyt Bowers Award for Excellence in Casting and Outstanding Contribution to the Casting Profession. “This evening was fantastic – from New York to London to Los Angeles, to celebrate our colleagues and recognize their hard work and mastery of their craft in film, television and theater,” said Casting Society President Destiny Lilly , said in a statement. “We continue to see changes and advancements in the industry to recognize our craft, and today’s celebration reaffirms our commitment and drive to advance our mission. And we couldn’t do it without actors. They are our art.”
Yvette Nicole Brown hosted the LA ceremony at the Beverly Hilton, Amber Ruffin chaired the New York event at the Edison Ballroom and Gordon Griffin chaired the London event at the Union Club. They celebrated the Casting Society’s first in-person celebrations in three years.
