Two weeks ago, Dan Walker shocked the nation with a selfie of his bloodied and swollen face after a horrific cycling accident.
But the 45-year-old 5News presenter looked like a brand new man during the Ultimate News Quiz in aid of Action for Children at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms on Thursday night.
The newsreader hosted the special charity event alongside former BBC Breakfast colleague Sally Nugent, 51.
Dressed in a navy suit and sleek brown brogues, Dan smiled for the cameras before the star-studded event began.
He also celebrated the occasion by posting a selfie next to Sally on his Instagram page. “Working on the Ultimate News Quiz tonight with this legend,” he captioned the upload.

Swollen: Dan suffered painful facial injuries after being knocked off his bike last month
Dan was left battered after being hit by a car while cycling in Sheffield on February 20.
He announced the horrific ordeal on Instagram, where he shared snaps of his injuries.
Dan then wrote: “Not quite the week I planned, but I’m on the mend. “I am very grateful for all your kind messages and for my family and dear friends. I also thank the paramedics, the police and the people who looked after me in the emergency room.”
He later covered a photo of his scarred face during an appearance on The Jeremy Vine Show.
“I am very grateful that I have been cured,” he told the presenter. Basically there were some dings and dents and scrapes everywhere.
“I have a badly damaged hand. I don’t want to take my pants off Jeremy, but I’ve got a big bruise on my right hip right now.’
Dan said he was “very grateful” to the paramedics, the police and those who cared for him at the hospital.
He also revealed that police told him five members of the public sat with him for 25 minutes until the ambulance arrived.

The presenter continued, “I don’t remember anything about that Jeremy, I don’t remember anything coming to the roundabout, but it’s that kind of thing, the kindness of people in difficult situations.”
Dan explained that he doesn’t remember much of what happened during the accident.
He added: “I know there’s a video going on, but I haven’t watched it. I don’t want to see it.”
“I don’t have flashbacks. And I don’t really want one either.
