Elena Mirren dismissed the notion that older women shouldn’t have long hair during an interview on ITV lorraine Thursday 8 March. The 77-year-old actress said she loves her long hair since she’s been growing it out during the COVID-19 pandemic. While she Helen admitted that she probably would eventually cut it, it sure looks gorgeous.
When the interviewer asked Helen about her hair and complimented her, Queen The actress brought up the stereotype that older women don’t have long hair, before sharing how she started growing it out. “You shouldn’t have long hair after a certain age,” she said. “During COVID, I started growing my hair out, and I really hadn’t had it since I was in my 20s, and it grew and grew and grew, and I basically didn’t bother cutting it.”
As he continued, he talked about how much he likes the new look. “I thought, you know what, this is really cool. I think I’ll stick with it for a while and it’ll eventually come out, but I’m enjoying it,” he told her. “It’s pretty radical.”
At the end of the interview, the host spoke about how Helen has continually been an inspiration to women to keep working as they get older, and Helen shared her thoughts. “Life doesn’t stop, creativity doesn’t stop, passion doesn’t stop and energy doesn’t stop unless you decide to stop it.” gosford park said the star. “It’s just about being motivated, really, and never giving up, and finding pleasure if possible in your life.”
Helen went on to say that as she has gotten older, she has also gained much more understanding of the struggles so many people face and how that has influenced her philosophy. “As you get older, you understand the struggles people face, whether it’s physical or financial struggles, and life is hard. Very picky,” she said. “So even more to keep your energy up as much as possible and keep your health as much as possible.”
