Battle lines have been drawn between Rebel Wilson and Meghan Markle after the Australian comedian called the duchess “not naturally hot” following their “awkward” encounter with the Sussexes.

While Rebel, 43, said she wasn’t quite sure why Meghan, 41, was so frosty with her, Eagle-Eyed fans think they may have found the answer.

The camera then pans to the celebrity audience to reveal actress Emma Watson gasping in shock at the joke.

“Unfortunately this is not nominated in that category, but some incredible films are. Let’s take a look at some of this year’s most notable British films,” she added.

During their amazing Oprah interview, Harry and Meghan accused an unnamed member of the royal family of racism and suggested they were asking “how dark” their baby would be; claim to have been driven out of Britain in part by racism; and accused palace staff of failing to support Meghan when she was “suicidal”.

It is unclear whether Rebel met the Sussexes before or after her BAFTA speech; However, that didn’t stop Harry and Meghan’s fans from speculating that their prank was to blame for their awkward encounter.

“Meghan and Harry’s new theme song,” Rebel joked afterwards, referring to how the couple retired as working royals and moved to California.

During her interview with Watch What Happens Live last week, Rebel revealed that she and her mother Sue Bownds were introduced to the royal couple by a mutual friend.
