The actor’s time did not spare.
Everyone knew this handsome man in the 80s. Then Mithun Chakraborty was the main competitor of Hollywood stars, but slowly his fame began to fade.
Success came to Chakraborty in 1982 – it was at this time that the Bollywood movie “Disco Dancer” was released. The picture made Mithun an instant world-class star, and the song “Jimmy-Jimmy, Acha-Acha” rang out from every iron.
Then there was “Dance, Dance” and hundreds of other movies. Throughout his creative biography, Chakraborty starred in more than 350 films, his name is even entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the actor who performed the most number of leading roles in the national language.
The 72-year-old actor is still working, just not as active anymore. And it’s getting harder and harder to recognize him by his face: the man was covered in wrinkles, let his beard loose.
According to the publication “Lisa”, Chakraborty produces films and often attends dance shows. He is also engaged in business: in the 90s, the actor opened the Monarch hotel chain, and later bought a football team. He is considered one of the richest people in India.
Mithun Chakraborty is happily married. He has three sons and an adopted daughter.
