A neuroscientist with cerebral palsy aims to become Australia’s first disabled bachelorette party.
Melbourne-based Jerusha Mather, 27, approached Warner Brothers, who ran the show, after being disappointed by the lack of on-screen disabilities.
“I love Bachie and he’s hilarious, but I felt underrepresented,” Pedone, disability attorney and doctoral student, said on Thursday.

“I rarely see someone like me on screen, and it affects my self-esteem and, to some extent, my self-esteem. It is quite discouraging and disappointing,” Jerusha continued.
He added that the great thing about watching reality TV is that it’s “recognizable.”
Jerusha’s aim may come to fruition, with Warner Brothers saying “they will contact him again as soon as they get the green light”.
It comes after Bachelor star Brooke Blurton addresses the show’s disappointing ratings and the changes Channel 10 can make to keep the franchise going into the future.

Brooke had chosen Darvid Garayeli as the winner last year, but the couple ended their romance just a month after the finale aired.
When asked if she regretted the show, Brooke replied, “I don’t regret it. There is not a single thing in my life that I regret.
“Every opportunity I say yes, everything I do is always ‘How will this serve myself, how will it serve the communities I represent, and how will it teach or show these people?’ happened.”

Despite the unimpressive ratings, both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette were announced to air on Channel Ten Upfronts in 2022, with Osher Günsberg’s return as host confirmed as well.
