Jeremy Renner continues to update his supportive fans on his recovery journey after being hit by a snowplow last December, leaving him with “more than 30 broken bones.” In his latest Instagram post, the 52-year-old actor revealed that he’s been doing “electrical stimulation exercises” as part of the show. He shared a photo of an electronic device with attachments on his right leg.

Electrical stimulation mimics the effects of a deep tissue massage, which improves blood flow, according to the Chiropractic website. TheConjunto.com. The belief is that the procedure can help repair injuries to muscles and may also help see how efficiently muscles heal after a serious injury like Jeremy’s suffered. Given the extent of his injuries, the recovery process could take years.

The incident happened in December when Jeremy stopped in front of a huge moving snow blower to prevent his nephew from getting hurt; instead, the Marvel star himself was “pulled under the vehicle across the track and run over,” according to police reports. The crash could have been fatal, too: During a 911 call from a neighbor, the person can be heard saying, “We need someone here right now with life-saving techniques… He was crushed, yes. There’s a lot of blood in here, so you need to call someone right away.

Initial reports had him in critical condition, but on Jan. 6, he was able to provide an update to fans. Captioning a selfie in a hospital bed, he wrote: “Thank you all for the kind words. I’m too confused right now to write. But I send love to all of you.”
In January, he took to Instagram to provide another update on his prognosis. “Morning workouts, resolutions, everything changed on this particular New Years…. I was born out of tragedy for my entire family and quickly focused on uniting love that is actionable,” she wrote. “I want to thank EVERYONE for the messages and consideration for me and my family…. Much love and gratitude to all you. Those 30+ broken bones will mend and grow stronger as the love and bond with family and friends deepens. Love and blessings to you all.”
