The couple tied the knot in 2011 after meeting through mutual friends in Nashville four years earlier. “So we ended up sitting with him and his friends and got lost in the conversation and they all disappeared,” she said in a previous interview. “We started writing songs the next day and then we got involved, well it was a few years later,” she added. In 2010, they got engaged and eloped to Antigua on January 1, 2011.

Their romance was the focus of the CMT reality show “I Love Kellie Pickler!” from 2015 to 2017. “We want to keep it light and positive,” she told the Associated Press while filming the series in 2015. “There’s enough darkness in the world already. And there’s a lot of negativity on TV.”

Kyle sadly passed away following an apparent death by suicide on Friday February 17th. Click through the gallery to see photos of Kellie and her late husband.
