Tom Cruise is used to signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
But he may not have expected the same enthusiasm from his Hollywood peers.
Cruise, 60, found out the toast at the Oscar-nominated lunch yesterday when A-list stars including Jamie Lee Curtis and Austin Butler descended on him.
He was pictured shaking hands, laughing and joking with Tinseltown’s elite at The Beverly Hilton.
The actor, whose blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for Best Picture, posed for pictures with Elvis star Butler, director Steven Spielberg, The Whale star Hong Chau, activist Malala Yousafzai and Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams.

He also appeared in an animated conversation with 64-year-old Lee Curtis, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
“I met Tom. We don’t know each other well, but we’ve both been doing this for a long time,” she later said.
The Oscars take place on March 12.
