Poor patrick mahomes! The 27-year-old Kansas City Chiefs quarterback caught a hit from the former NFL star and Inside the NFL co-host Marshal Brandon38, which involved Rihanna in a hilarious but cruel lie. At a football press conference before Super Bowl LVII, Brandon told Patrick, “Rihanna came out and said you are the greatest quarterback of all time. Feeling it, how does it make you feel? Patrick completely fell for the joke, telling Brandon that he felt “awesome” hearing what Rihanna would say about him. “Everything Rihanna says is like the gospels, so I’m glad she came with me for this honor,” Patrick also said.

But Brandon quickly broke the news to Patrick that Rihanna has never said anything about the pro QB. “She didn’t. She didn’t, she was joking,” Brandon said, starting to laugh. So, when Brandon caught up with Rihanna after Apple Music’s Super Bowl press conference on Feb. 9, he told the “Umbrella” singer about her brutal joke.
“Patrick Mahomes, I pranked you yesterday. And did I mention that Rihanna said you are the greatest quarterback of all time. He blushed. He smiled. And then finally, I said, bro, I’m lying,” Brandon explained. “This is so bad!” Rihanna told Brandon, before turning her attention back to the camera to talk to Patrick.
“It’s mean. Good. I’m sorry you had to go through all of this. I still think you’re amazing,” she said. There are still nice people in the world!” Brandon chimed in, referring to Rihanna. “It’s a hateful thought,” Rihanna hilariously added, making Brandon laugh.

Rihanna and Patrick are likely to cross paths at the Super Bowl, so maybe the singer can show the athlete some love himself! Patrick hopes to win his second Super Bowl when his team takes on the Philadelphia Eagles. Halftime is when it’s Rihanna’s turn to shine for her highly anticipated performance, which she confirmed lasted 13 minutes. Ri also confirmed that he has 39 versions of his Super Bowl Halftime Show lineup.
At the Apple Music press conference, Rihanna described how much hard work goes into the halftime show. “It takes a lot of preparation and a lot of moving parts. This is the week where it’s really being tested,” she explained. “It’s literally 300 to 400 people tearing down the stage, rebuilding and tearing it down in eight minutes. It’s incredible.”
