At a charity auction for non-profit MusiCares held by Julien’s Auction on Sunday in Beverly Hills, California, 50 pieces of musical memorabilia drew high bidders, including one-of-a-kind items donated by superstar artists such as Paul McCartney, Eminem and Taylor Swift. among many others.
The event took place in conjunction with the 65th annual Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday near the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
A 2021 copy of McCartney’s book The Lyrics: 1965 to Present – personally registered to the auction winner – sold for $25,600, a figure twenty-five times the original estimate of $1,000 at 33 auction bids.
Featuring notes, photographs, commentary and art by the legendary Beatle, the two-volume book has been named “Gift of the Year and a must-have for any fan’s library”.
The auction comes after the famous entertainer was spotted with his wife Nancy Shevell in Los Angeles on Saturday at the Interscope x Pinball Roller Boogie Palace party at the Hollywood Palladium.

The top-selling item was a pair of Nike Air Max sneakers worn by Eminem, which fetched $40,625 after 34 bids. The white sneakers (US size 10) have ‘Shady’ drawn in black ink by the rap icon on both shoes.
Rapper Margaritavillain won the sneakers after his fans created a GoFundMe account in hopes of helping him literally follow in Eminem’s footsteps.
“My new shoes were previously owned, worn and signed by Eminem!” Margaritavillain said in an Instagram post. ‘I will post more information and videos of the auction later and maybe a music freestyle.’
He continued: “Thanks to all the fans who made this possible! I’m blown away by all your generosity… Thanks to you, I’m now walking in #SlimShady’s shoes!”
Another expensive item was a 2020 Epiphone DR-100EB acoustic guitar signed by Taylor Swift, which sold for $25,000.
Featuring Swift’s 2020 album Evermore on the front, the guitar features the singer’s signature in black marker with a heart on the side. The auction had 22 bids, with the highest bid going for five times the original estimate of $5,000.
Another guitar, donated by Aerosmith legend Joe Perry, fetched $25,000 over 23 bids.
The 2022 Joe Perry Signature Gibson Les Paul Electric Guitar is signed by the famous musician who previously played the instrument on stage in Las Vegas. The item came in a padded black Gibson case along with a black guitar strap, parts and an instruction manual.

With a print of fish, surfers, islands, boats and waves, the shirt sold for $12,800 with 29 bids.
David Lee Roth donated a painting titled Dark Ocean that sold for $10,240 with 17 bids. The acrylic on canvas painting is signed and dated on the reverse by the former Van Halen frontman.
